Student Succeeds at Regional Science Fair

A. Gillen-Ford Achieves Excellent Rating

Written by Nick McClellan, Community Engagement Coordinator, Horizon Science Academy Toledo

Amanda Gillen-Ford, a 10th grader, knew she wanted to go above and beyond this year for her science fair project. After much hard work, she recently entered her project into the NW Ohio District Science Fair hosted by the University of Toledo.

Northwest Ohio District 2 Science Day (NWDSD) is the regional science fair for students in grades 5-12 in schools of Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas,  Ottawa, Sandusky,  Williams, and Wood counties.

Amanda built and tested a pair of robots for search and rescue. One is a land robot and one is an underwater robot.

We are very proud of Amanda and her success at this year’s district science fair.

A. Gillen-Ford poses with her certificate of excellence from the NWO District Science Fair.
