Principal’s Message

Dear Parents / Students,

On behalf of the HSAT Administration, Faculty, and Staff, I welcome you as a new member of our Jaguar family. We are looking forward to working with you in partnership to provide your child the high quality, STEM-focused, College and Career Preparatory educational program that HSAT is renowned for. To ensure our partnership is an effective one, we kindly ask that you prepare yourselves to work hard, work cooperatively, and work positively with our team throughout the school year. At HSAT we understand that when the school staff, the parents/guardians, and the students are all committed to working together, our school community is harmonious and our students excel. In Jaguar Country, everything we do revolves around our four core values:

Responsible Behavior
Outstanding Attitude
Achieve Greatness
Respect Everyone

Once the new school year begins, your student will come to learn very quickly what it means to ROAR academically and behaviorally as a student of HSAT. In preparation, we ask that you read through our Student Handbook over the summer, as every student and parent will be required to sign and return the
Student Handbook acknowledgement page on/before Tuesday, September 8th. We also strongly recommend that new families start acquiring the required student uniform items ASAP! The uniform polo shirt w/logo must be purchased through Schoolbelles either online or at their retail location. Purchasing details can be found by clicking this link. School uniform pants can be found at multiple retailers, but can also be purchased through Schoolbelles if you choose.

School supplies are provided by the school for all of our K-4 students. Students in grades 5-12 must provide their own supplies – please refer to the attached list of required items. Obviously the plan for the fall is still in limbo, as we are waiting for Governor DeWine to reveal his expectations for the upcoming school year. We will continue to monitor guidance from the state and communicate any new information regarding the nature of instruction for the 2020-2021 school year as it becomes available. Please make it a regular habit to check your email to ensure that you do not miss any important updates. Though, in response to the uncertainty surrounding the ’20 – ’21 school year, all student will be provided a Chromebook for use at home or at school, ensuring that no matter what school looks like, our students will continue to learn, grow, and succeed.

If you have any questions, please reach out directly to me at snyder@horizontoledo.org. Again, I welcome you to our Jaguar family! I look forward to meeting you all soon and working together to make this upcoming school year a successful one for your student. Have a safe, healthy, and ROAR-tastic summer!

All the best,

Mrs. Rachel Snyder, Principal
