Best school in Science – Huge success at CONSEF (Mar 9, 2013)

On March 9, 2013 20 students from Horizon Science Academy Toledo, grades five through 12, attended CONSEF, the Concept Schools Science and Engineering Fair which was held at IX center in Cleveland, OH.

Students were judged on the presentation of their project, lab reports, research and display boards.  Projects were presented to each of three judges, who interviewed the students to determine how thoroughly they understood their project and their research.

The Fair was a huge success for our students:

Three of the students achieved “Best of Category” awards. Besides we also came home with 6 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals. 2 of our students got honorable mentions.

The awards culminated with our high school winning First Place (out of 42 schools) for the senior division of the science fair. That is a huge achievement and an honor for our students, and for Horizon Science Academy of Toledo High.

Congratulations to the HSAT student scientists and their mentor teachers. They worked hard, and achieved so much, to make the entire school proud to be a Science Academy.
